Youth Ministries

The Student Ministry at St. Luke is a Christ centered ministry for students in the 6th – 12th grade. We strive to be faithful to the Great Commission given by Jesus to His Apostles to “go and make disciples.” As the Director of Student Ministries, it is my desire that our young people come to receive Jesus Christ as Savior, grow as disciples, and live a life marked by service to others. Please see below for our weekly activities:
Sunday School
Sunday School classes are offered at both 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Classes meet in the Youth Center. Our classes use quarterly curriculum from David. C. Cook. This curriculum is reflective of our Wesleyan heritage and John Wesley's emphasis on personal holiness.
9:30 a.m. Sunday School
Students meet in one of three classes: 6th grade, 7th & 8th grade, grades 9-12.

10:45 a.m. Sunday School
Students meet in one, mixed class that meets for study.

Sunday Afternoon Ministries
These ministries offer students an opportunity to shine for Jesus and share their faith. Schedules may change somewhat as performance dates draw near. Check with leaders for more information regarding these ministries.
Sacred Dance
3:00 p.m., Sanctuary
Sacred Dance is open to 2nd - 12th grade girls. Leaders: Mary Lee Pement and Paola Pearce
Youth Drama Team
4:00 p.m., Fellowship Hall
All youth are encouraged to be a part of the Youth Drama Team. No prior acting skills are required. Leader: Joni Ray

Sunday Night United Ministries Youth Fellowship
6:00 p.m., Youth Center
All Jr. and Senior High students are invited to join us each Sunday for Youth Fellowship! Students begin the evening with supper and fellowship, followed by a time of praise and worship -led by our youth band - and a devotional message. We hope to see you there...and bring a friend!
Parent Group
6:30 p.m.
While students meet for evening fellowship, a wonderful opportunity exist for parents to get together for study, reflection, and encouragement. Leader: Pam Levan
Wednesday Night Bible Study
6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Youth Center
There is something for every age group at St. Luke each Wednesday Night. The youth (grades 6 -12) at 6:00 p.m. for a time of focused Bible study. Students meet in one of three classes: 6th grade, 7th & 8th grade, and grades 9-12). A variety of study series is presented throughout the course of the year, each designed to draw students to the Savior and to a greater understanding of what it means to be a Christian in today's world. Leaders: Lauri Pipkin, Candy Timberlake, Darlene Henderson, Wes Greeson, Jason Strength, Jeff Pement.
Prior to Bible Study, the Youth Center is open beginning at 4:30 p.m. for students to do homework, play and eat supper.
Other Youth Fellowship Opportunities
In additon to our weekly activities, the youth also takes part in annual retreats, service projects, mission trips, drama productions, and a host of other activities provide our students with unique opportunities for growth and commitment on a deeper level. Below are the Youth Health History and Parental Consent Forms; both forms will need to be filled out and turned in before your student is allowed attend St. Luke Youth Ministry trips.
