Our Mission

The mission of St. Luke Preschool is to provide a loving, safe and secure Christian environment. Our goal is for children to learn, grow, and develop socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually through age appropriate activities and skills. We strive to instruct, guide, and nurture each child that he or she may develop into the special person that God desires.

About Us

St. Luke UMC Preschool is dedicated to the education of young children. We offer a developmentally age-appropriate Christian curriculum that promotes learning through child-centered, hands-on activities. We are licensed through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). ACSI governs Christian schools and requires that we meet the state and local requirements for licensing, in addition to meeting ACSI standards. Those standards include, but are not limited to, providing a Christian curriculum.

Class Sizes & Ratios

We offer small class sizes with the best ratios in Pensacola. Our toddler class has a teacher to child ratio of 1:4, the 2 year old classes have a ratio of 1:5 and our 3 and 4 year old classes have a ratio of 1:10 children in each class.

Enrollment Info

St. Luke Preschool is a high-quality preschool center that offers educational advancement for children between the ages of 6 weeks through 5 years. Age placement is based on the age the child will be on September 1 of the current school year. All classes strictly follow teacher to student ratios. Therefore, placement is on a first come, first served basis. When a class reaches maximum enrollment, a waiting list will be established. We take pride in our commitment to providing your child with a safe, compassionate learning atmosphere, where each child will be treated equally regardless of race, sex, national origin, or creed.

Chapel

On Monday and Tuesday of each week, all classes will go outside (weather permitting) for Chapel. This is a time for children to learn about God’s love by hearing Bible stories presented in a way that is meaningful to a young child. It is also a time to celebrate God’s love through singing!

Activities

It is important to us that the children in our pre-school learn through their play. Therefore, we offer a variety of activities that give the children hands on experiences, such as crafts, stories, games, music, computers, and special events.

Special Events

Throughout the school year, we host many special events such as: Boohoo Breakfast, Donuts with Dad, Moms Day Tea, Preschool Sunday, Trunk-or-treat, Easter Egg hunt, Thanksgiving Program, and much more!

Music, Movement & Sensory

Music, Movement & Sensory is a time for pre-schoolers to hear different types of music: slow and fast, loud and soft, traditional, spiritual, and classical. Not only do children listen, move, sign, and play games to music, they also experience the wonderful sounds of different instruments. These exercises help the children to strengthen their large and small motor skills while having FUN!

In-Class Technology

During center time in the 3 and 4 year old classrooms, the children will have an opportunity to explore online educational programs through technology. The tablets and laptops are child-safe and pre-downloaded with several educational options for the children to explore.
